NYUK Hunter with Vietnamese Rosewood and brass pins

$275.00

Caught your eye didn’t it? Well it should. This Hunter blade made from 1095 high carbon steel has lustrous Vietnamese Rosewood handle scales. They have been hand sanded to 1500 grit then buffed to a high sheen. Brass pins also add to the deep swirls and patterns found in this unique wood. The blade itself has been hand sanded to 220 grit with the bevels sanded along the blade and the flats sanded at a 45 degree offset to accent the transition between flats and bevels. With a 90 degree spine this blade will have no problem throwing sparks with your ferro rod, just don’t cut yourself. The sheath is made from 6 oz. leather and has been left natural with an initial thick rub down of Neatsfoot oil and a final application of Skidmore’s leather conditioner. The hand stitching was done using 1.0 cream tiger thread. The top belt loop will fit anything up to a 2” wide belt.

NOTE: When attaching the handle scales to this blade there was some squeeze out at the ricasso that happened after it was already wiped down which tells me I used just a bit too much epoxy in that area. Even though I think it looks quite nice and has an added benefit of protection this is not something I like to have on knives I sell to clients. The process of trying to remove the additional squeeze out of epoxy can end with undesirable scratches on the ricasso, so I decided to sell the knife as-is and let the owner decide if they want to try and remove the epoxy or leave it. I just want to be up front that this was an oversite on my part and because of this I have to sell this knife at a discount even though this does not affect the function of the blade at all.

Here are the specifications:

Total Blade Length: 11”

Blade Length: 6”

Blade Material: 1095 high carbon steel

Handle Material: Vietnamese Rosewood

Pins: 3/16” brass pins

Sheath: 6 oz. veg tan leather

Stitching: 1.0 creme tiger thread
